Kumihimo
Kumihimo is a traditional Japanese art form of making braids and cords. Literally meaning “gathered threads”, Kumihimo are made by interlacing reels of yarn, commonly silk, with the use of traditional, specialized looms.
Traditionally, Kumihimo is worn belted and tied around the front when wearing kimono, but many of my Kumihimo can be worn as a necklace, a belt, or as broach when removing the pin.
